HAUNTED HOUSE ATTRACTION AUCTION REPORT

The Disneyland of Haunts
is what industry insiders dubbed the Rocky Point
Haunted House. After twenty-five years, the award winning haunt lost
its lease on its 66,000 sq. ft. building.
Enter Norton Auctioneers, a
Coldwater,
Michigan
based auction group that
specializes in the auction of tourist attractions, amusement parks, carnivals,
haunts, carousels and all types of tourist attractions.
The April 28th Rocky
Point Auction attracted over 250 haunt owners and Halloween aficionados from as
far away as Alaska, Connecticut, New York, Florida, Arizona, California and all
parts in between.
It took four hours to sell the
300 lots comprising the intricate walk through attraction which featured movie
props, robotics, animation and all kinds of haunts.
A small four room haunted
mansion scene sold for $44,000, 8 framed marquis at $6,300, coffins from
$400-1,500, 4 foam gravestones $1,100, pneumatic headless zombie $2,000,
pneumatic leaper $1,650, faux mausoleums from $3,000-5000 each and a mirror maze
was gone at $19,800. Other prices realized included a WWII searchlight at
$18,750, forest maze $4,400, various pneumatic tricks from $500-4,000,
Frankenstein table at $7,150, rocking boat captains room for $7,150, scary
carousel at $11,000, asylum facade $4,125, groups of costumes totaled over
$10,000 and fog machines averaged $550 each.

Special edition The Dead Matter DVD set including TWO new
Midnight Syndicate CDs available at ALL Hot Topic stores nationwide on
JULY 30th
Midnight Syndicate will release a special edition The Dead Matter
DVD set that will be available at ALL Hot Topic stores nationwide
on JULY 30th. The set includes 3 DISCS:
☩ The Dead Matter DVD - The long-awaited dark fantasy film
starring Andrew Divoff, Jason Carter, and Tom Savini served up with a
score by Midnight Syndicate in glorious 5.1 Surround. The DVD will be
loaded with special features including TWO Midnight Syndicate music
videos, several Midnight Syndicate Video Contest finalists, and another
special feature to be announced soon.
☩ The Dead Matter: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack CD -
Clocking in at just under 75 minutes, this disc will include Edward
Douglas' score to the film, as well as other tracks that appear in the
movie, including ghost-rockers Lazy Lane, Eternal Legacy, and Jerry
Vayne. Also featured will be three exclusive Midnight Syndicate remixes.
☩ Midnight Syndicate's Halloween Music Collection CD - A greatest
hits-type compilation featuring some of Ed and Gavin's favorite tracks
from their first 13 years.
The set will be available at all Hot Topic stores on Friday, July
30th, all for the price a regular DVD!

New Midnight Syndicate video for Lost
coming mid-June, produced by 529 Films
Midnight Syndicate will be releasing a music video to the song Lost
in mid-June. The video stars The Dead Matter's Donna Williams and
was produced by Cleveland's 529 Films, creators of the movie
Hellementary. The song Lost appears on The Dead Matter:
Cemetery Gates CD as well as the upcoming The Dead Matter:
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (July 30).
Midnight Syndicate tapped for Rue Morgue's new
FREE Hymns from the House of Horror compilation album
Midnight Syndicate is honored to be part of Rue Morgue Magazine's 100th
issue celebration. From the desk of Rue Morgue... "In honor of our 100th
issue, Rue Morgue Magazine is releasing a FREE, downloadable
compilation album titled Rue Morgue Radio Presents...Hymns from the
House of Horror. Thousands of bands have graced the pages of Rue
Morgue magazine and airwaves of Rue Morgue Radio over the
course of thirteen years. We enticed some of the many artists we believe
best encapsulate the world of Rue Morgue into giving us exclusive mixes,
previously unreleased tracks, rarities and classic cuts for this morbid
mixtape, hosted by Rue Morgue Radio's Tomb Dragomir."
The song featured is the original full-length version of Haunted
Nursery from the Born of the Night CD.
2010 Haunted Attraction Registrations
It's that time of year again where the first of
the Halloween products are starting to appear in the stores and people
are finalizing the plans for their haunts.
